AAAI 2026 — rules and template
Read requirements separately from examples
Separate the initial seven-page technical allowance from final production options. The accepted publisher PDFs can include additional pages and are not evidence of the original submission budget.
AAAI uses author-year citations and places ordinary figure and table captions below their displays. Do not transplant numeric citations, table-caption placement or colored-table conventions from CVPR/ICCV. The official source register retains policy conflicts rather than inventing a resolution.

| Author AI assistancesubmission · camera-ready | conflicting official wording; clarification neededEditing author-written text is explicitly allowed. The call also contains broader permission alongside restrictive generated-text language repeated on the author-policy page. Conflicts and unknowns
Two incompatible AI-authoring descriptions remain visible
The call has a permissive Appropriate use paragraph and a restrictive Plagiarism paragraph. The separate author-policy page repeats the restrictive version. These sources do not provide a dated resolution. Editing author-written prose is expressly permitted; obtain clarification before relying on broader generated-text permission.

Conference instructions override generic back matter
The generic kit ends with references and says to check the conference-specific checklist instructions. AAAI-26 submission instructions explicitly require checklist answers after references. The checklist page places additional explanations in the technical appendix. These are different objects, not competing places for omitting the required answers.

Instruction prose and style implementation differ
The PDF says 10-point text with 12-point leading; the supplied aaai2026.sty defines normalsize as 10 on 11. Preserve the official file instead of manually changing its spacing. Its internal package date says 2026/06/17 although the downloaded archive members are dated July 2025; record the archive identity rather than inventing a revision chronology.
A stale final-publication date remains
The publication paragraph says November 3, 2025; its sidebar says November 13, while the updated call timetable shows November 16 after a November 8 decision. Do not use the stale paragraph to reconstruct an operational deadline. The separately maintained planning calendar and actual production notices govern live planning.

AAAI-27 changes do not rewrite AAAI-26
AAAI-27 explicitly caps the initial PDF at nine pages with pages eight and nine reserved for references. The checked AAAI-26 instructions instead allow additional reference and checklist pages without that numerical total cap. Reverify the complete 2027 package for a new submission rather than reuse this historical ruleset.

Generic appendix examples are not extra review pages
The generic author kit describes optional appended sections but supplies no conference page allowance. AAAI-26 limits technical content to seven pages and provides a separate technical-appendix upload. Do not infer an unlimited attached appendix or web supplement from the generic template.
