Figure, table and section ledger

Editorial contribution type: Architecture & representation (primary).

Layout extraction, not a required paper template. Counts are distinct caption labels; a multi-panel figure counts once. Section spans are estimated from heading positions, including floats and whitespace. Method and limitations.

Extraction notes: No attached appendix boundary detected. Zero means no recognized caption, not independently verified absence.

Source-bound correction: Checked 2026-10-25 against the manuscript scan and physical-page Poppler boxes. This source has numbered main headings; table-column labels named Method are not sections. All caption candidates correspond to Figures 1–6 and Tables 1–6; Algorithm 1 on physical p.4 is intentionally outside the figure/table count. Physical pp.3,6,7 were rendered and visually inspected. No attached appendix was identified.

Section-by-section lengths and source pages

The title/abstract/front matter precede the first numbered heading. A span ends at the next detected top-level heading, not at the last sentence; end-page whitespace is included. References and statements are listed separately. These are not measurements of text-only or artwork area.

    Argument and organization

    1. 1 Introduction; 2 Related Work

Isolates the mismatch between correspondence-based flow and geometric consistency, then positions the work against matching-based SLAM, hybrid mapping and 3D foundation-model approaches.

    2. 3 Method

Decomposes the closed loop into hybrid flow estimation with a geometric prior, bi-consistent bundle adjustment, and reliability-aware flow refinement; equations define residuals while Algorithm 1 states the refinement decision.

    3. 4 Experimental Results; 5 Conclusions

Separates tracking, reconstruction and runtime before controlled component comparisons and visual failure-region diagnostics, then limits the conclusion to the proposed dense monocular system.

    Problem, claim and contribution

The introduction does not merely promise a stronger depth backbone. It identifies unreliable correspondence in reflective, weakly textured and repetitive regions, then argues for coupling learned matching with geometric consistency. This makes the geometry-to-flow feedback an answer to a named failure mode rather than an unexplained additional branch.

    Argument and section order

The three named method subsections follow the same cycle shown in Figure 2: estimate flow using frozen foundation priors plus task adaptation, update depth/poses with two residual types, and use the resulting reliability information in the next refinement. Algorithm 1 supplies the conditional update logic that the architecture picture alone cannot specify.

    Figures, captions and visual explanation

Figure 2 uses a full-width, three-region diagram and feedback arrows to show that reliability is returned to the recurrent estimator rather than appended only at the output. Figures 3-4 use aligned scene/method comparisons; Figures 5-6 narrow to changed geometry and unreliable image regions, including two refinement iterations. These displays answer different questions and should not be collapsed into one decorative pipeline.

    Tables, comparisons and evidence

The evaluation separates trajectory error, reconstruction distances and frames per second. Table 6 names the bi-consistent adjustment, node-wise mask and edge-wise mask in explicit component columns, preserving the shared EuRoC evaluation. Table 5's runtime comparison needs its surrounding qualification: one method processes submaps and another chooses fewer keyframes, so raw FPS is not a fully matched per-frame computation contract.

    Appendix and reproducibility

The main text contains the residual definitions, validity threshold, conditional refinement, training sequence size, inference adjustment and hardware rather than deferring the defining mechanism to a supplement. No appendix is attached to this inspected PDF. A reusable writing plan would still route the complete configuration and scene-level protocol to versioned supplementary material or code, which was not inspected here.

    Clarity and writing conventions

Repeated module names link the method overview to the component-switch table. Two phrases need careful qualification when borrowing the writing pattern: end-to-end does not mean every foundation encoder is updated, and mapping accuracy is a distance for which smaller is better, unlike classification accuracy. Captions and legends should state these meanings directly.

What to reuse—and what not to infer

Transferable lesson: For a feedback architecture, draw state variables and the return path explicitly, then use the same module names in a controlled ablation table. Keep tracking quality, reconstruction distances and measured speed in separate comparisons with their evaluation contracts visible.

Boundary: The foundation encoders are frozen within a trainable system; end-to-end should not be paraphrased as full backbone fine-tuning. Runtime rows have different processing granularity, and the reported quality is specific to the named datasets and protocols. Qualitative crops and component gains do not establish universal robustness or independently validate the system.

Apply this lesson using the argument and evidence worksheet.

    Main text
Writing-focused scan of physical PDF pp.1-7 covering the motivation, related work, geometric-prior and task-adaptation branches, optimization/refinement loop, protocol, comparisons, component ablations and conclusion. Physical pp.3, 6 and 7 were rendered and visually inspected; the acknowledgments/reference boundary on p.8 was checked. This does not establish correctness of the implementation or reproduce SLAM evaluation.
    Appendix / supplement
The inspected nine-page proceedings PDF ends with acknowledgments and references on pp.8-9 and has no attached appendix. No main-text appendix pointer was identified. The article's separate video/poster/slides asset and code resources were not inspected; their content is not inferred from the main PDF.
