CVPR 2026 — rules and official template
Scope: CVPR 2026 main conference. Checked: 26 September 2026. These are historical rules, not verified instructions for CVPR 2027, Findings or workshops.
Start with the exact author kit
Section titled “Start with the exact author kit”Use the CVPR2026-v1(latex) release linked by the 2026 Author Guidelines. The main manuscript allows eight pages including figures and tables, with references excluded. Do not shrink text or margins to imitate the appearance of a longer paper.
The template contains supplementary source for convenience, but instructs authors to split it out for submission. Do not import ICLR’s in-file appendix convention. A public accepted PDF and its separate supplement are different documents, and neither reconstructs the anonymous submission’s history. Template entry point, length and review instructions.

Conflicts and unknowns
Do not carry the ICLR appendix convention into CVPR
The supplied LaTeX project includes a supplementary section for convenience, but its instructions require separation for submission. The final public proceedings PDF is not evidence of how the anonymous submission was uploaded.

Who receives compute-report data
The reporting page names a separate committee; the clarification says program chairs. Both exclude reviewers/area chairs and acceptance use. Do not promise a narrower exclusive audience than both sources support.

Initial-phase AI disclosure placement
IEEE requires acknowledgment disclosure for AI-generated content, while anonymous copies omit acknowledgments. The checked sources do not settle the initial-phase placement; confirm it with the conference when preparing a submission.

Historical dates and author-order exceptions
Some author-guide prose retains the earlier abstract deadline; the call records its extension. Author-order prose and accepted-paper exceptions also differ. Neither should be generalized into a future-year rule.
Camera-ready operations are not inferred
The tagged style and copyright instructions were checked; year-specific production/upload instructions were not verified. Do not borrow workshop or earlier-year upload settings.

What the writing should make easy to judge
Section titled “What the writing should make easy to judge”The reviewer guide and reviewer training material emphasize scientific contribution, correctness, positioning, evidence and clarity. A meaningful insight need not win every benchmark, and arbitrary additional experiments are not universal acceptance conditions.
Translate this into a drafting check: can a reader identify the new contribution, understand the mechanism, judge the comparisons, and find the evidence needed to verify the claim? A theorem, algorithm or extra visual belongs in the paper when it serves that argument—not because a guide assigns a quota.
Formatting practice
Section titled “Formatting practice”The official shell uses 10-point two-column US-letter text and numbered references. Keep figure captions below and table captions above; preserve readable labels at printed size and use line styles, shapes or text in addition to color. Use the supplied style’s output rather than rebuilding its dimensions manually. Official formatting source.
Keep named variants, metric directions, units and symbols consistent. Inspect the compiled main and supplement PDFs independently: a cross-reference that works in a combined local draft may break after splitting files. Review mode and final mode have different author/ruler/page-number behavior.
Compute reporting is not an efficiency result
Section titled “Compute reporting is not an efficiency result”The 2026 reporting form requires sections 1 and 5; sections 2–4 are optional. It is not used to decide acceptance. An efficiency claim still needs appropriate measured costs in the manuscript, with workload, hardware, precision, batch size and included preprocessing stated. Do not substitute an administrative form for a scientific comparison. Compute instructions, clarification.
Before a future submission
Section titled “Before a future submission”Recheck the year, track, phase and actual production instructions. The current collection deliberately retains unresolved or conflicting policy details instead of borrowing an earlier conference’s rules. For preparation, continue to the contribution-specific drafting guides, inline visual gallery and complete oral writing corpus.
