Figure, table and section ledger

Editorial contribution type: Datasets, benchmarks & measurement (primary).

Layout extraction, not a required paper template. Counts are distinct caption labels; a multi-panel figure counts once. Section spans are estimated from heading positions, including floats and whitespace. Method and limitations.

Section-by-section lengths and source pages

The title/abstract/front matter precede the first numbered heading. A span ends at the next detected top-level heading, not at the last sentence; end-page whitespace is included. References and statements are listed separately. These are not measurements of text-only or artwork area.

Separate source files—excluded from canonical-PDF totals

A separate author version may repeat main text and references. Whole-file lengths and counts are not extra appendix material and are never added to the canonical PDF totals. Read the study's source scope for which sections received substantive reading versus layout inspection.

Separate PDF (or ZIP containing it): whole-file layout of 24 physical pages; 23 detected figures and 7 tables. These may include overlapping main-text material.

Located appendix only: starts on physical p.1; ≈ 23.91 page-equivalents, 23 figure labels and 7 table labels. This interval is distinct from the whole file.

    Argument and organization

    1. Environments §2

Formalize observations/actions and classify games by strategic properties.

    2. Evaluation and analysis §§3–4

Measure three distinct abilities, then vary modality, reasoning prompts, personas and human comparison.

    Problem, claim and contribution

The benchmark's gap is interaction with other agents under visual and partial information, not ordinary single-agent task solving; the three measured abilities are named at the outset.

Abstract and Figure 2, PDF pp. 1–2 · Main paper · Additional source 2

    Argument and section order

The environment taxonomy precedes the leaderboard, while perception, strategic prediction and interactive return receive separate evaluations.

    Table 1, PDF p. 3; Tables 2–4, PDF pp. 4–6 · Main paper · Additional source 2

    Figures, captions and visual explanation

The taxonomy table combines game properties with graded ability requirements. Page 6 contrasts multimodal/text-only bars with hatch patterns and averages, while below-random cells stay visible in the main table.

    Table 1, PDF p. 3; Table 4 and Figure 3, PDF p. 6 · Main paper · Additional source 2

    Tables, comparisons and evidence

Decision returns are normalized using random/oracle anchors; the main analysis adds human participants and failure cases rather than equating high perception with strategic competence.

    Appendix and reproducibility

The supplement specifies exact model versions, per-game data/return rules, unnormalized returns, failure traces and extra environments, making the normalized main comparison auditable.

    Supplement §§A–K, PDF pp. 1–24; Tables 5–11 · Main paper · Additional source 2

    Clarity and writing conventions

The paper differentiates missing private-information reasoning from ignoring history, turning qualitative failures into task-specific explanations rather than generic model weakness.

What to reuse—and what not to infer

Transferable lesson: For an interactive benchmark, separate recognition, predicting others and acting, then expose random/oracle normalization and the information each player can observe.

Boundary: Normalized game return depends on reward and opponent protocol; personas in simulated games do not establish a model's stable real-world social disposition or ethics.

Apply this lesson using the argument and evidence worksheet.
